Just a note, HW is also referred to as HEW - high energy wake. Or Hi-wake as I have seen it on posts.

LAS - Local Authority Ships or LA for short. Also as SAS system authority ships. Aka The Law :)

BGS/BS - The Background Simulation that handles all the housekeeping, faction states, fines and bounties, Commodities Markets, etc.

The BS is purely optional, but most players who play low-level politics - flipping systems and manipulating factions - use it all the time.

Yep, lots of "BS" in this game, especially a lot of "BS" in the politics side. In fact, even in this group, there is a lot of "BS" that goes around ;)

RNG = The mechanism by which players can find a reason for their misfortune in mission selection or rank progression (random number generator).

Incidentally, I always thought the H in IMHO was "humble"
