Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

In all reality I'm really looking for the best place the Sirius system permit will pop up, I'm currently out around CEOs/sothis and RNGsus isn't being kind so far, but I'm not sure how outdated my information is. Has anyone unlocked the permit recently or had better luck or some good suggestions on what planets/stations to try my luck at?

Permit missions only show up within 15 LY of the system that is permit-controlled, so no amount of board-flip at Ceos/Sothis will give you that mission. Fly back to the Sirius area, Proycon and Luyten's Star are good places to grind Sirius rep, get missions (mostly PAX) with MT as rewards, and are in the 15 LY sphere around Sirius where the permit mission can spawn.

Easiest way to unlock anything with an ally res.
Is doing a bit on the road to riches and sell your data at station owned by the faction.

Can easily get fully allied in an hour.

Tor is correct. Took me an evening doing Road to riches (did about 20 systems) then went to Procyon (or is it Proteon?) and sold the data a bit at a time till I got allied. Then relogged and the permit was there.

I think you can be allied in about one million of carto data. That's a lot less than 20 systems.

Better than doing missions.
or they way I did spend a full week in ceos just doing various crap data missions.

Mining or bounty hunting is also an option.
Selling stuff at large profit at a factions stations seems to make them like you.
And bounty hunting locally will soon make you friends with all but a pirate faction or two.

If you start from scratch, you are at the high end of neutral, and it typically takes 6-12 million to get allied status. However, if you have scanned too much, you can fly to 78 Ursae Majoris and sell the remainder at a station owned by the Alioth Independents. They will offer you a mission for the Alioth permit once you are allied, and there is another engineer in Alioth.

If you should have even more data left, more data sold helps reaching cordial or friendly with the Party of Yoru and the Eurybia Blue Mafia for access to two more engineers.

But yes, doing a quick R2R is definitely better than grinding missions for reputation.

Awesome, thanks for the information folks I'm allied with the corporation in CEOs/sothis, but I'll be taking a trip back to procyon soon and trying there, probably scan systems on my way through just in case
