ED Engineer

Postby Loriath » Mon Nov 07, 2016 10:46 am

This is a new app that is used to track Blueprints, Engineers, Data, Items and cargo via the new Journal files that ED Makes. It works as an overlay when you run ED in Borderless. I have not tried it yet, but thought I would post it anyways.

It has a configurable hotkey. Once the game is loaded, use the hotkey to pop the overlay up, and transcribe your materials totals. it will then track when you pick anything up and let you know when a blueprint can be crafted, and where.

No endorsement, just an FYI.

Okay, I have this utility setup and will play with it a little bit. It is quite easy to configure once you go through the first time monotonous setup of adding all your incorrect data, commodities and materials.

You can favourite recipes, ignore them, select only the types or grades you want as well as only from the engineers you have unlocked.

If you click on a recipe it will tell you what you need to collect to craft it, and for the recipes that you have enough to craft, how many you can craft.

Very Slick.

Ok, so what would you drop for this.

Fighters or passenger missions ?
(Passenger missions)

I much rather have hobbyists do what they do, and have FD focus on the game instead.
Win win really.

Ok I have been playing with this and talking to the author. I am definitely going to be using this app to track my engineer stuff.

I went USS hunting with limpets and watched in real time as it updated. VERY cool. And he seems responsive to suggestions. This will be a great asset for me as I don't usually go searching for Engineer stuff unless I am doing a new ship build, but this will make it much easier to keep track of things and allow me to see when I am close to getting the items I need.

I've been using Inara for my cargo and recipe tracking for the last couple of months. It'll give you good info about wgat you need to complete your favorite recipies, but this app with real time tracking sounds very cool.
