I am looking for a Win IRC client that can play custom alert sounds if certain terms turn up in the chat.
It seems Pidgin can't do that.
Any suggestions?

Hexchat
I downloaded it yesterday and you can go into preferences and que what words trigger an alert.
I have Hal going "There is a message for you"

Great, thanks. Already downloaded that but was unsure. No plug-ins required?
Okay I am on it ... I am correct that I first have to put the word in the "Extra Words to highlight" and then set the Sound under "Sounds"?
But which Sound Event is attached to the Highlighted?

It is Beep and I put "Ratsignal,Dispatch" in Extra words to highlight, don't put a space.. in there at all.. it creates false triggers.. was having almost all messages ping on my yesterday till someone told me this

I do that way I know when someone is talking to me, and don't need to be sorry. Ask away ^,^

Thanks! I just would like to assign the short rat squeak to the event that someone names me, and the long squeak in case of Ratsignal.

Hmmm ... how would a HexChat custom Event Call code look like? I want to bind a CASE RED to another type of alarm than a simple Ratcall or me being named.
