VoiceMacro - the advanced Speech Recognition enabled Macro Software

Postby Yeshe McGermot » Wed Sep 06, 2017 1:02 pm

Heya everyone,
I'd like to contribute by throwing the information about VoiceMacro together in this post.
VoiceMacro is for PC users and I simply love this nifty little tool!

VoiceMacro, the website.
A must read tip for Windows 10 users.
And there's a metric ton of information, help and tips&tricks on the forum.

I just started using and configuring it, so there's not much that I can add to the documentation and examples provided.
But, if you run into problems, just ask here, maybe I encountered the same and solved it by the time you run into it.

Cheers /Yeshe

Update 20170929: Sharing my configuration.

I did set the speech output to "Microsoft Zira Desktop" explicitly, because I have a German Windows and I needed to install English speech recognition and voices as an extra.

I prepended all my voice commands with "dora" (As in Dora the Explorer) to have as unique code for the recognition. Just "landing gear" could lead to very comedic moments if I e.g. have friends over and were talking about the game.

Upcoming

I'm in the process of developing a "random but repeat-safe sound file play" for VoiceMacro. With that you can have, say, fifteen different sound files for acknowledgement that are used in all macros and get played in a random fashion but you'll never run into a streak where you hear the same soundbit again and again.
I'll provide a soundpack with that.

If you want to put in the effort for the configuration? Yes, I'd say so.
I prefer VoiceMacro over VoiceAttack because of it's extensively documented versatility. I didn't find that very approachable with VoiceAttack.
But then again, I'm a person who likes to tinker with IT-Systems...
