How does the anti Tharg weapons work on normal people?
FSD increase, PDS, and thruster mods I suppose would still be nice.

Yep, does this mean we now have to have two different sets of weapons equipped, a couple of guns for "normal" npc.s and another couple just for Thargoids. I don't think we can go with just Thargoid guns and then go one shotting npc Anacondas on haz res.

Possibly the anti-thargoid weapons have some sort of biological component (thargoid ships are living organisms), making them less effective against metal ships?

That's kind of what I'm thinking. Specialized weapons for Thargoid hunting, then change your outfitting back to normal stuff for RES hunting.

My thoughts also, but then you must have a way to change weapons in flight, just in case you are fighting Thargoids then end up fighting humans. Or you do not get to change your weapons and the anti-Thargoid weapons can be used in a specific part of the galaxy, like a CZ for fighting Thargoids.

Or ... <insert random thought on the matter here> :)

It will be interesting to see the design decisions made by the FDev team.

Wonder if the Thargoid's have to change their weapons when they fight one another. Or being an insect race I wonder of they are in kind of a collective, like the Borg in Star Trek, so firing on one another would not be possible.

I would be suprised if they really go a route much different than:
class 4 beam, same price as before, buy anywhere.
Class 4 beam 'tharg edition', works on humans and tharg's.
Limited in availability, maybe need founders or some other permit to get.

Rule 2: No such thing as overkill, as long as there are reloads.
