Not modded one, since it would actually take real stuff, and I got none.

The base stats for a normal a rated one was actually quite nice at around 22.5 ly, and that's with a buggy, some cabins and the two hardpoints.

Speed wise it was just shy of 400ms.

So with a 50% boost to range just shy of 34ly.
And that's without downgrading, or further tuning.

The little i played with it I thought the same. That said I am only using the Steam controller as I am away from home and don't have access to my HOTAS but it doesn't seems that intuitive, the controls don't map the way I would expect them to. Guess, as you say, I need to check and remap accordingly!
