I think the CG'S for Jacques are done, but I could be wrong.

Either war, it's a long haul from the bubble, at about 22k ly if memory serves (on my phone at the moment). It takes a pretty healthy amount of dedication to fly that far to help build/rebuild a station. :)

Lots of guys did it, and I may help out next time there is a CG out there.

Yes, the CGs at Jaques have ended almost two weeks ago already. At the moment, there is no word if and when a new CG will come, and how long the CG will run. Of the four Jaques CG so far, only one ran the full length, all the others ended early.

If you are looking for money, stay in the bubble, the trading and community goals there pay better. If you want to push your exploration rank, start with some slightly smaller trip first to get used to the black and to test your build. IIRC, SWE starts in a couple days :-)

Financially, or for its own sake?

Unfortunately, you're on your own there.

There are those who get their fun from blowing things up, making more money than the next commander, playing the BGS and so on.

And then there are the explorers. I've quite surprised myself by going to Sag A and then on the Jaques - and enjoyed it. I'll be claiming a lot of dosh from Cartographics, but probably not as much as I think it's all worth - but I don't care as it's been an interesting journey.

Not everybody enjoys it - ask Loriath.

I did enjoy it and it was good. For a while.

But I think its like being drunk. You think it is fun and a blast and all is good, and the world is AWESOME! But at some point, you pass out, and then you wakeup.....

And you realize that death would be preferable and that the old joke "To avoid Hangovers, Stay Drunk" was not a joke, and was actually a valid way to avoid what you are feeling now, and the only thing in the world that gives you any relief is the cold porcelain of the toilet on the side of your pounding head with the slight misty spray when you flush, cooling your face even though beads of sweat that have accumulated on your brow.

Everything else in the world is shit and you even try make a pact with some deity with hopes that it will alleviate the pain and nausea, even though you know that even if the deity that you are trying to invoke exists, it is laughing at you because this is not the first time you have done this and felt this way, and the last time when you did this and had recovered, you promised yourself that you would never, ever, ever do this again in hopes that it would help as you knelt there over the same porcelain pot doing the same thing you are now.

Yet here we are.

Yep, that is the way I started to feel about 2K from Jaques as I worked towards Sag. A.

Or maybe, it was just some space madness that suddenly made me want to jab forks in my eyes.
