Odd thing with my map - I've never seen more than 6-7 green icons even if my friends list says that 20 are online. The thing is, you can't tell what private group someone is in, so I suppose it only shows friends that are in the same group, not those in solo, open, or another private groups? I just assume when I see they are in a private group that it's Mobius, but I guess not. But I've also been in Kamzel for DWE, so maybe I'm just full of shit.

Once you have made an instance change (to or from SC or Planetary Landing or a System Jump) then anyone that has just their names on your friends list are in the same group as you. The others that say private group are in another group. It also shows Solo, Open, and Main Menu. At that point the Galaxy map will show your friends list in the same mode as you.

Just curious, is there going to be any organisation of CMDR distribution round the map (difficult) or relying on pot luck . Also CMDR's would not know if they are sitting on the same system as another CMDR unless they are friends.
