Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

Very nice, like the concept of seeing ourselves as the "true" PF.

Need some in-game lore about who Rafferty is/was, why Mobius (the name), and how the Order came about.
Was Rafferty a person, they have a planet called 'paradise', is this related to the concept of pilot unity, a world free of war, where everyone works together for the greater good?
Did 'Rafferty' create the 'Order', and if so why, was he a high ranking PF member who rebelled against the PF due to the corruption, or is there a darker reason?
Is the person Mobius the same as Rafferty (in game that is), or did Rafferty found the Order some time ago and Mobius is the name given to the person who currently leads the Order?

Many questions, but a bit of background is always good, especially for those creative types who want to use the Order in their writing.

I am really happy to see that Mobius is not aligned with Empire/Fed/Alliance ... I had the idea that was aligned with the Empire by reading some old posts

"Commander Rafferty was a founding member of the Pilots Federation, however increasing concerns with the direction of the Pilot's Federation lead Rafferty and a group of like minded pilots to search of a new home, somewhere where the founding principles of the Pilot's Federation could be upheld, free from politics and corruption.

Their search eventually lead them to settle in the Azrael system where their new home was named 'Rafferty's Paradise' in honor of the commander who lead them there.

Rafferty's Paradise flourished as Commanders and civilians alike sort a home for a unified galaxy, but as will all things time and old age caught up with Commander Rafferty, and in honor of his principles and his final dying wish an Order was created to continue with his dream. The name 'Mobius' was chosen for its symbolism of being never ending, with only one side (humanity) and only one boundary (non-aggression).

To this day, the name Mobius is adopted by the Commander who leads the Order, and the Order of Mobius stands as a beacon of non-aggression that promotes synergy in order to incubate social and commercial growth".

I pledge to dedicate myself & my ships to support the Order exclusively in all ways, and help it grow to become not just a power, but THE power.

If that means taking a wing into PvP to defend us against the forces of chaos & despair, so be it!

some good posts, the back story of the order is still missing though CMDR Xebeth could be on to something, the logo was quickly put together and isn't the final version.

My feeling is, that as the Order is to be regarded as totally separate from Mobius PVE, it must have it's own talking-shop, and 'staff'.

Is this already being done, or do 'we' need to try & organise that ourselves?
