Not again...

I hate doing these posts, and told myself to stop, but this one is different.

Gord Downie is gone.

If you're not Canadian, you won't really understand what this means to Canada. Lets just say that The Tragically Hip are the Most Canadian Band in the World. And Gord Downie would be the equivalent of a mash between Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan for us.

He was Diagnosed 2 years ago with a terminal Brain Tumor. We all knew it was going to happen, but still....

Even our Prime Minister was overtaken with the news.

If your interested, check below the fold.

Yeah, so sad - he was like Canada's Poet Laureate - R.I.P. Gord.

Not sure if "This Hip" can/will carry on now -

I have to say, like many outside Canada I had never heard of him or the band. It’s very clear what he meant to many though and its a sad loss.

Last year we lost Leonard Cohen, this year, Downie. Canadian music culture is left with some big holes that won't soon be filled.

I just named my FDL "50 Mission Cap".

Gord was one of the best wordsmiths out there.
His music will live on forever.
