List price for the g29 wheel here is about £300. Shifter not included, That's another £60.
Got mine on sale for about £200.

They really do know how to stiff us with these things.
But that's logitech for you, make something worth £140, charge £250.

Being tempted to get the shifter now too though.

Thrustmaster TH8A is supposed to be better.......And has a sequential adapter that can be put on....Plus you can adjust the tension on it...

The Logitech one has been described as a bit toy like.....

But then again the Thrustmaster is twice the price........

Don't rush into anything yet Tor.......

If I end up getting the PCworld bundle for a good price you can have the Logitech shifter as I will have the TH8A

Nah, the rushing is already over and done with a couple of months back when I already bought the g29, and for my intents and purposes it is fine.
Just getting the shifter wouldn't near as expensive as selling it for a pittance on the used market and buying something more expensive that most likely wouldn't be that much better to begin with.

If I'm going to do anything nutters is to get back on the x-sim boards and research the idea of a 3DOF motion plattform.
I would like one, but haven't the fecking clue how to build nor any of the tools needed to do anything for it.
Heck I don't even have a workbench.

If you happen to have a spare shifter I could always forward some shipping costs or whatnot :)

So far the paddles do ok for me, and it's not like you gain much with the shifter in regards to speed\time.

Update: aah, the th8a works as a standalone usb device with a PC, I wouldn't have to switch for a thrustmaster wheel.
It is 3x the price of the logicrap one though, but it does look a lot sweeter...

It's ok, I got google.

Just watched a review on it, seems to be no contest compared to the plastic fantastic of the logitech one.
Now what we need is for FD to make some more racing oriented SRV's,...

There is always room for going bonkers, or well, for when that lottery ticket comes in..

http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php ... &cPath=101

But all in all, the rift, a stock g29 without any trimmings, I don't even think I have used the handbrake at all so far, haven't touched any rally much either so there is that.
Formula\indy doesn't have handbrakes to begin with.
They are either doing 150-300kph, or they're on fire.

What I really want are SLF's deploying SRV's..

Or sidetracked, I am certain if they had given us the ability of dropping a multicrew member off in an SRV it would have saved the feature entirely.

Anyhoo, just got confirmation, they start ripping out my bathroom tomorrow morning.

It's one of his button box interfaces that is in my Warthog ED controller build......

His direct drive stuff is sposed to be the dogz bollox.........

But as you say that's a lottery win.......

As for the bathroom.......

Great rip it out and put a sim-pit in there.......Washing is overrated anyway.......

I might be able to get a 'new' 3x4m room in there if I also rip out a staircase that hasn't been used for decades, it's closed off an everything already I\we haven't bothered to yet.

Was thinking of maybe relocating some AV stuff in there, move the bed into my current AV area, would leave me with a lot more space in the office area I am now....
In addition to a big new bathroom.
Might not smell me yet, but apparently that's about to change, Pimax claims to have a scent synthesiser in the works for their VR system... I am skeptical.

Hmm, a thought.
Has someone tried using a shifter like th8a for toggling landing gear and cargo hatches etc ?
Might be an issue with how these shifters work as held down buttons, where as ED wants an on\off impulse.
It would be sweet with an actual tactile lever for it though...
Landing gear, cargo hatch, deploy SRV macro, Flight assist hold toggle should work off the bat..
Hmmm...

Defunct now but still works........

You can set a diff press and release command......

I use it for my lights, hard points etc that are on toggles......
