Commanders Age Span

Hello there fellow Commanders,

I smile at the people laughing at me when I tell them I play ED with my flight chair and HOTAS and am being made fun about all the little kids out there playing.
Well I mostly don't care too much since me and Elite have the same exact age and I am pretty sure I am among the youngests.
I don't know how to make a proper poll but I would be ever so glad to get to know how old you Comrades are.
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised (and I would be more than happy if that's so) to find people from 80s and 70s alike, knowing a few of you veterans are used to play Space Games since then.

I was 13 when I first played Elite on my ZX Spectrum. I just can't help myself but fall in love with this new version, to some amusement of my wife. I swear I can hear her snigger when I say the word commander out loud.

I played elite first on the c64 - I'll admit i didn't really get into it as I was too young to appreciate it, come the Amiga version of elite frontier which hooked me! I had folders full of trade routes and commodities pricing at different stations, then came the PC version of first encounters and bugs galore but I still loved it... Then there was nothing, bought the X series which I thought, whilst good, it wasn't elite.

Once I'd seen elite dangerous was actually out of beta and playable I pounced! I fit into the 38 year old kid playing

I played on my BBC Micro back in '84, and I was already in my 30's.
Now 65 and still enjoying gaming, playing Elite and other stuff like Fallout and Elder Scrolls.

Well I played the original on the C64.......

Now have a Warthog.......Track-Ir......And a home built customised control panel......2 screens and about to spend a small fortune on a new box......

Mrs hates it with a passion......And is always telling me to grow up.....

Soon to be 57 and still kicking ass........

I had never heard of Elite till this version, we didn't always get the coolest stuff in 'Murica. But I'm not young, just turned 35 a couple of weeks ago.
