November 1985 - Crash Magazine had a review of Elite, ported to the ZX Spectrum

95p - I had just turned 13, and that was 1/3 of my weeks paper round wages. Just for the magazine.

Had to use my birthday money to buy the game. Took me ages to get to Elite. Entered the first 'Race to Elite' competition, and got a nice letter back to say the competition had closed, but I got the badge anyway.

Now I have a Vive, Hotas, and an XMG laptop to play it on, and threw money at the Kickstarter the moment I saw it.

I still feel 13 when playing, when I have the time after all that 'grown up' stuff...

Played all Elite titles on Spectrum, Amiga, pc and just LOVE ED! I'm 46 and have never found a game suiting me better, though I played a lot of other games too. X52 pro Hotas, TrackIR and 27" 144Hz G-sync monitor is my cockpit so far, but will go VR when the economy allows it for sure!

I'm new to the Elite universe and I'll be 44 next month. Definitely hooked on this game so far. Looking forward to many more years of gaming.

Saw the backside of 60 awhile back. Whom ever said life starts at 50 lied.

Sat eating Quisp cereal, watching the moon landing, saying Ill be in space someday.

Anyone under the age of 25 actually?
... and then they apply an extreme word filter for nameplates (Emb***y, link to the forum thread) because the game would be PEGI 7 ... you bet ...

Hmm, I'm certain there are many younger players in the game but either they don't play in Mobius or they just don't take part in the Möbius community.

Fill that, which is empty. Empty that, which is full. Scratch, where it itches.

56 -
TRS 80, Commodore 64 then Amiga for music, still have the first digital portrait made with the drawing
app. MS space sim was my first space experience and of course watching the moon landing one night on a black and white TV.

Doing some fiction writing and composing - wanted to try VR to get in the zone, loaded up ED and
Amazing.
100+ hours so far, crazy addiction. Had to drag myself away to drop some trees and get the place ready for spring.
Just a delivery truck ASP X right now, combat later ( DCS, Il2 vet.) can't wait to take a friend around in multicrew for a tour of the Galaxy, pretty neat.
Have to pick a home base- Azrael?

Left my Cobra docked out in the open and went to get a sandwich- "your ship has been destroyed ", lots of learning left for me heh.
