The Sims PvP

Postby Roger Wilco Jr » Wed Dec 28, 2016 4:45 pm

Having never played it, but I've heard that The Sims was a pretty popular game. I'm just wondering if you could walk up to a stranger and just bash his brains in, or rape and murder at will? Maybe burn down a building full of other sims? And if not, was there a lot of complaining about not being able to? I mean, were people actually complaining that they wanted to simulate being a murderer? Or was it allowed, and if so, did they have PvE servers or private groups?

I'm really curious about this - only being mildly sarcastic.
It's time to give this another go.

Hmm...

Ok. I'll bite. I did not play the Sims but as far as I could tell, it was more about socialising and building your character than it was about combat. Heck, as far as I know there was no combat involved in that game.

Duh - you're probably right. Odd to think that wasn't an online game.
It's time to give this another go.

You could invite a Sim over to swim in the pool, then go into edit mode and remove the ladder and they would drown eventually. Does that count?

I have very little faith in humanity.
It's time to give this another go.

I think the relative anonymity of online games bring out the worst in many people. So in your hypothetical situation, if the Sims offered PvP you would have virtual murder there as well. This is why we can't have good things.

Also, building a 1x1 square room with no doors was a good way to have someone die in a pile of their own feces. Not that I or anyone I know ever tried it.

Or if your feeling particularly cruel you could trap them in a room with everything except a toilet. Then kill them in some horrible manner (such as the pool or 1x1 room mentioned before) for no reason whatsoever other than it amuses their overlord I.e. you

Or if you want to make a money making slave you can make a basement with all the essentials in it along with a painting stand, pop the sim down there, remove the staircase and get them to paint 24/7 (with some eating, sleeping and defecation breaks of course). Eventually their paintings will start being worth a lot of money and the sims you actually care about are rich. This also works with multiple sims locked in the basement. Of course it must be said that I find this "morally wrong" and would totally never ever do this. Ever.

Also if you didn't know your sims can befriend and eventually have kids with the grim reaper.. Parents evening must be great for the kids, and careers day

Edit: I have no idea why I posted this. Enjoy!! :)

Yeah, I looked up some vids on youtube and saw several ways to die. I didn't understand what the game was about, so I guess death in general isn't a bad thing in the game. But some of the animations of drowning or burning alive were pretty sick. And also, yeah, you can burn a building full of sims down if you're so inclined - saw the vid.
It's time to give this another go.
