So there I was mooching around the Steam sale and Planet Coaster, even though not in the sale, just kept wiggling its attractively cartoon bottom in my direction. After a while I found I kept getting drawn back to its page, and whilst I wouldn't normally go for a building and management simulation, I thought what the hell it's not exactly expensive, might be a bit of light relief when ED get frustrating, something to dip into now and again, money to FD, etc, etc...
Well 11 hours later, it's one in the morning, another cold coffee from earlier in the evening sits untouched and congealing on the desk, the wife has given up and gone to bed. I sit there, slightly bleary eyed obsessing over why my guests think the queue for the log flume is too long, whilst at the same time worrying why my drop coaster with its carefully constructed tunnels through a series of hills that I made isn't getting enough visitors, is it too far away from the entrance? Maybe there aren't enough toilets near it? Lasers and confetti, you can never have enough lasers and confetti?
There is a lot of litter about, do I need more bins, or more janitors? Is the scenery around the 'spinny up and down thing' good enough, the queue ratings are quite low? More trees or more lights, perhaps a pirate band, no! a dancing water and light show!?
Ahh, one of the food vendors has quit - how do I direct people in that direction? Am I selling enough hats? Is there enough toilets? Why is everyone congregating in that particular square? Why can't I feel my legs anymore? No I don't want to eat, people don't have enough balloons damn it!
It's crack cocaine in software form, but I'm ok, yes indeedy, no problem here, err I just need to check if the profits on the merry-go-round have improved...
