Okay.... I got to spend some time in Lone Echo this afternoon.

OMG!!!! This game is amazeballs!! 8-) :D 8-) If it didn't hurt my legs to stand longer I'd quit my job to play this game.

I'm not sure how far into the training I am, but everything has been freakin' incredible so far. Well.... except trying to find the sweet spot on my helmet to operate the damn headlight. That was an outright pain in the you-know-what.

Thanks for the recommendation, Tor. Amazing game.... simply amazing. 8-)

So we need to play more video games, in VR... :)

Well.... I've got that covered. For my job, I don't sit unless I'm at break or lunch. So I'm either standing or walking for 7.5 to 9 hours a day, 5 days a week. That's why I don't do playspace games in VR when I get home. :( My legs and feet are beat!

On another note, after my session in Lone Echo yesterday, I remembered that we have an armless simple office chair (that swivels) in the back room. I'll have to give that a try for my next session. ;)

Also, for anyone else playing Lone Echo using Revive there was a Revive patch today:

Improved touch controller offsets to make the helmet buttons easier to reach in Lone Echo

I guess it wasn't just me that couldn't find the damn helmet buttons!

I honestly think I couldn't live a more sedentary life if someone bet me.
So this is probably very good for me ;)

If you can get used to rotating virtually you don't even need the swivel.
I have been playing for a while last night by just sitting on an ottoman instead of my regal chair.

But standing is generally better imo.

Another lone Echo related post:
Was puttering around the main station looking for cube sats and found a little something.

Something red and very extreme. They even wrote "Vomit Comet" on the side.

Remember how I mentioned rocket sleds, and it was sad you couldn't actually steer them?
Well, screw the sled part, it's a handheld rocket and it goes where you aim it.
Sometimes, ok occasionally it might go straight.

There's a few kinks.

Has anyone got this yet? Its currently 52% off the normal price but only for the next few days. I am very tempted but would love a first hand account of what its like.

I haven't played STBC but I know that it was HUGELY popular when it came out a few months ago. Everyone on the Steam VR facebook group was raving about it. Since you seem to be interested in it and it's on sale, I say "go for it". :)

Almost bought Bridge Crew until I read your comment regarding Lone Echo, I think you said you would quit your job to play that game. Downloaded it yesterday and I can see why you said that it is amazing. I am still feeling my way around this game but it has all the mechanics that a VR game should have I'm sure I will discover more as I work my way through. Finally found a use for that second spare bedroom we have it gets convert this week into a game cave. There was a coupon include when I bought the Rift for Ocean Rift for a few bucks not a bad VR experience if one likes underwater diving adventure. Elite is a wonderful VR experience it just takes a little time getting controls set up or rather getting use to using them in game, currently using Voiced Attack for power management only, really do not need that. Finally at the point where I only remove the headset to have a break. Not sure what the new ED release will bring to the VR as I gave this beta a miss hopefully work out the Map problems.

I also picked up STBC, Only gone through the basic and rather clunky tutorial, and the first mission in solo mode.

It is a good game, probably the best "Trek" experience to date.

It is also a real demonstration of how absolutely abysmal the multicrew implementation is in Elite.
All crew stations has special tasks only they can do, and if you had real people who knew what to do, and when to do it.
And with real people they could do it fairly autonomously, albeit the captain would still be needed to coordinate and maintain big picture of the situation.

It should run off U-play, so play between the oculus and steamvr, maybe even PSVR should be possible.

As for other good VR games.
I recommend Mage's tale, the load times might be utterly abysmal, but like Echo for instance the game itself is a proper game, not just another VR showcase arcade demo.
