I was played the closed and the open beta. I was really excited about the game and then it just left me on the fence about getting it.

Then a friend on Steam gifted it to me and I'll give it a go.

The Caveat to the game is it has the Tom Clancy by line and while it has certain elements that adhere to reality it is NOT the usual Tom Clancy concept regarding combat. The combat is pure RPG stlye like most MMOs out there. Yes the graphics are excellent, the story is solid, the game play is quite good and its not the sort of game that is meant to be played solo even though you can. But if you are expecting a true simulation here, you will be disappointed as the enemies and especially the bosses are bullet sponges which as an RPG its normal. So why is Tom Clancy's name in the title? Who knows and frankly no one really cares.

Tom clancy games haven't been Tom clancy games since the 90's.
And there hasn't been a ubisoft game worth the money for almost as long.

They have pretty much taken the lead from EA in that regard.
So, so far.
The TC stamp is a sad legless zombie of what it was. Not interested.
Ubisoft. Very not interested.
Rpg online type bullet sponge npc's (even if it's just bosses)
REALLY NOT INTERESTED.

Have fun guys I will be having fun playing something else entirely.

People call me Bob.

Rule 1: Pillage. Then burn.
Rule 2: No such thing as overkill, as long as there are reloads.

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory is still the best TC game for me. Rainbow Six was great in the early days but it got a bit repetitive.

I don't see myself investing anywhere near the hours I have in Elite into this. Like Defiance its ok for an hour or two but for me, the shine wore off the chrome in short order.

Oh and the other really retarded thing that I see, after actually getting it to load early this morning, is your character's name. You can't name yourself. When you activate your agent you get to use your Steam or ubisoft handle. So if your handle is "Rat_Bastard666" then that's your name in The Division.

WTG Ubisoft, look at all the money you saved not having to create a data base that checked for duplicate "REAL" names or even checked for unacceptable names.

I somehow feel the immersion level just dropped 99%!

In the beginning the Universe was created. This had made many people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move. - HHGTTGImageImage
