Finally!

After wanting proper IT techie jobb for 10+ years, I finally got it.

Now for those of you that don't know me, I work at a smallish ISP in Norway. We mostly deliver ADSL, VDSL and SHDSL to both private and business customers. We're also branching into virtual servers, web hosting etc and getting pretty good setup on that. It helps a lot that our data center is inside a norwegian mountain, in other words nothing leaves the country unless you make it. That is needed for a lot of businesses. :)

Up until a couple of weeks ago I was working mostly with support related things... but now.. NOW! I got a job keeping our network alive and healthy as well as implementing new things. Internal promotion (replacing one of the guys that are leaving for new pastures).

oh btw, our TS server runs on that system, so if it goes down you can blame me double :)

TL;DR: WOOOOOO! :D

Well done, Forked.

The ways things are looking with the world recently, being under a Norwegian mountain might be a really good (safe) place to be ;)

Congrats. I am in a similar line of work here in the UK. Troubleshooting data networks mainly and transmission systems mainly and even after a number of years I still find it very rewarding indeed and hope you do too.

So far it hasn't been much troubleshooting, but I'm sure that will come. I just have to wrap my head around troubleshooting BGP, OSPF, IOS in general (not the apple kind :p), vmware, onapp, windows servers, linux (several distros) and and.. :) setting stuff up is fairly easy, it's when shit hits the fan..

at least they are sending me to an onapp cource (3 days + 1/2 day test) in London in January :)

I am glad I'm not the only one with all that responsibility, hehe.
