Space Movies

Someone asked for good space movies in another thread, so I thought a dedicated thread could be good.
This is what I answered, works pretty well as a starting post for this thread as well
Star Trek, 2009
Star Trek Into Darkness, 2013
Stargate, District 9 and Iron Sky might not be that much of a space movies, but come close enough in my opinion. I think Iron Sky is the weakest of the movies listed here.
Stargate, 1994
Galaxy Quest, 1999
District 9, 2009
Gravity, 2013
Iron Sky, 2012
Galaxy Quest and Iron Sky are comedies, the rest are more "serious" movies.
There is also a series from Stargate, and spinoffs too like Stargate: Atlantis, 2004–2009
I'm sure there are more good space movies, these are just some I could think of now. And for some reason I have this feeling that I am forgetting something obvious from the list.. Maybe someone else can tell us what it was
And right before posting two came into my mind, Aliens, 1986 and Event Horizon, 1997
