...To NOT post replies on the FD Forums or on /r/EliteDangerous to threads about "Crybaby Carebears complain being blown up"
Thanks.
I now need to go take a hammer and 400 nails and pound them in my "Frustration Board" for a half hour. There is no talking to these people.

It's like driving past a car crash, you know you shouldn't stare, you say to yourself "don't slow down, don't stare", but there's that little monster in the back of you mind that makes you, it's the same on the forums, you don't even notice it, but it's there, "feed the trolls, feed the trolls..."

With half the moderators protecting their behinds, it's an awfully tricky thing to say -anything- to them at the best of times, particularly when they're being utterly obnoxious.
I hope you find a bit of peace from the mooks....oh, wait, we're here.

what I find helps is to type the reply out while adding a few insults, then re read it all , make a few amendment to the post, add more then cancel it all.

I reply with my true thoughts and then just get banned - problem solved.

Now that is how most of my posts end up, too!
If you need an extra security layer, do that in an external editor, so you don't hit 'post' by mistake.
This I do with my emails at work if I am too riled up. You only send the wrong mail to your boss once!

I don't think it does any harm to post a contrary opinion on a forum. It allows you to crystallise your own thoughts on a matter, and to a lesser extent reminds your reader that other opinions are out there. Moderators should not be censoring such posts - in fact they are welcomed on most forums (as long as they aren't just frivolent disagreements to provoke a reaction).
The real skill is finishing with the first post. If in that post you haven't convinced someone to say at the very least "I see your point, but..." then any further involvement is a waste of figurative breath. Even if your point has come across badly through poor use of the language, it's flogging a dead horse.
You are king of the thread if just one of your readers says something to the tune of "I've changed my mind" as a result of what you've written.
