[Ship loadouts] SLFighter types - your experience

Welcome to tell us your preferred Fighter type, its pros and cons, in this thread! Since there are many out there now, both anti-Thargoid and normal, it is time to gather some experience ... Generally, fighters are great for tagging and chasing targets for example in a RES, especially if you fly so...

Re: Rail Guns in Beyond (3.0)

Depends on what you want to use them for really. Generally, I would go for long range, since you can hit even small targets nicely if you target their subsystems, on long range (the Rail auto-adjusts a bit). It is even a nice anti-fighter weapon due to the "hitscan" effect. As for experime...

Re: Upcoming Conflict CG

This CZ showed how tricky it can be with players and npcs. Sometimes the radar screen was all red. Now if another opposing player would have been among the red dots, it would have been near-impossible to see the hollow square between all the reds. We were just lucky that no incident happened and we ...

Community Goal with a Decal!

There is a Community Goal with a Decal as reward currently active (in fact, two), as stated in the E: D newsletter. See here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/419264-Support-Ross-310-Natural-Services-(Combat) Anyone who wanna wing up, I might be there for a bit soon (bring a CZ ready shi...

Re: Sci-Fi authors and Astronomy

I recently singed contract as an author for the oldes Sci-Fi series still in existence, or to be precise, a version of the original running in parallel, but adapted to today's knowledge in astrophysics (and all the other stuff that changed since the 60's). I observed that space combat is a particula...

Re: Reported for sitting in a dock (apologies)

I am with TorTorden there. I feel it's not the job of the group to police such things, that could escalate soon ("he shot the NPC I just wounded! Send the killstealer a ticket!"). This is not really the idea behind Mobius, at least how I understand it. And to use Mobius as a policing entit...

Re: And BOOM! Nerf Hammer Falls!

I´m not saying you are playing it wrong or something like that, but I would imagine that if I made 2 billion credits on one day, I´ll be more or less done with the game. I´d buy my ship of choice with all A-grade modules and then all that´s left is grind for ranks. When I was new to Elite in end 20...

Re: And BOOM! Nerf Hammer Falls!

Funny side note, when I was popping skimmers in a cheap Eagle –- engaging multicannons and cannons to have some fun -- there sat a big fat Python. Sometimes it was in fact engaging, but behaved like a defense ground battery, didn't take off and stuff. Oh and it shot frags ... which didn't impact sta...

Re: PATCH IS LIVE ! Beyond 3.0 patch notes.

Put G5 Dirty Drives with the +10% Optimal Mass on an D-graded Imperial Eagle.
Then head out for some planet with crevasses and press Boost.

Note: Don't try this at home ... and not on a full stomach

Re: My Open Play experience.

Quite typical for hotspots like Sothis really. And a topic since game launch ... Though I have to say that besides at hotspots (CGs, popular trade routes, Alien sites) I seldom ran into difficulties in Open, where I am spending much of my time fuel ratting. But when I have some sensitive stuff to do...
