Re: Probably a dumb question...

Yeah they are power play versions of CZs. and merit-wise, theyre supposed to work like CZs pay vs. RESes - they have a lower payout per kill, but a guaranteed steadier stream of kills.

Re: Does the Shield cell bank & Auto field-maintainence unit helps?

If you're in an Asp, and two players try to mix it up with you, most times you should just run. At least until you get very confident at handling pvp. The Asp is well liked as a multi role ship. It can do anything. But it isn't going to hold up well fighting other players. I didn't fly an Asp for ve...

Re: Does the Shield cell bank & Auto field-maintainence unit helps?

The AFMUs are for explorers. They save you if your Fuel Scoop gets fried while you're 1,000 LY from civilization. :)

They can't repair Power Plants though. If you're in the bubble, it's normally better to forget carrying an AFMU and just be good at emergency fast-landing.

Re: Coding ethics

I'm not a programmer, but.. It doesn't seem like an unreasonable request - lots of helpful little apps that are posted free-to-download do offer source code or something like that. But the post-er may have been a bit pushy/presumptuous in the way he made the request. It's also not unreasonable of yo...

Re: Point Defense shooting ships

And I just ran across this, shared by someone on the official ED forum to show the hardpoint placement on Anacondas: http://i.imgur.com/YtGLCxK.jpg Going clockwise from frontmost, top left: Forwardmost, sides: Medium (2) Topmost, midships: Large (2) Lower rear: Small (2) Lower midships: Huge (1) - s...

Re: Point Defense shooting ships

PDs don't target ships, although they may hit ships while aiming for something else. Anacondas have two Small hardpoints on the lower rear of the ship, near the thrusters. These are probably what's chewing on you. Point defense fire looks pretty different from other projectiles. It's a stream of lit...

Re: Did I bite of more than I can chew?

The Cobra, as one of the fastest ships in the game, lets you scoot away fast when start getting targeted by too many enemies in a CZ. The Asp is slower, and much bigger and easier to hit. If you're going to take it into CZs, you'll need to be careful to adjust your style. Work the edges, help the fr...

Re: Fun in Bast

I've had some excellent RESes going in Wolf 46. It's nearby, low security system with two High-Intensity RESes. No re-arm in the system though. Bring lasers, keep 4 pips in shields most of the time, settle in and just help the cops take down long parades of Pythons, Clippers and Dropships :) Scan ev...
