Re: David Braben answered my question about Open PVE

The very reason we now have a speed limit in the no fire zone, is precisely because before it came in you would have people in tanked up, heavy ships doing nothing but hanging over the mail slot and ram into any player coming in to dock. I thought it was the opposite - they would sit near the slot ...

Re: 2.1 - fun killer?

I think the big problem is that people bought a game, played it steadily and made good progress, and then overnight it's changed. It's not like any other game where you can tweak the difficulty settings for the AI. One day it was beatable, the next day - not. The "git gud" brigade are igno...

Re: Getting bored now

Thanks again - that worked. I had to fly 1500ls to the nav beacon only to find that the USS was right where I'd been. No way of knowing if the USS wouldn't ever spawn without scanning the Nav Beacon, but never mind - it's done now.

Re: Fighter/Explorer Craft Advice Please

Nah - discovery scan to see if there's anything juicy, and move on. However, when I did find a system with an ammonia or earth-like, I scanned the whole system except for asteroids. I also didn't bother with anything further out than 100k ls unless it was worth a lot.

Re: Fighter/Explorer Craft Advice Please

How long did it take you? Exactly a month - 20150921 to 20151021. All the trouble with explorer data last year happened right in the middle of it! The pics are here . I was already partway into "Pioneer" but it was enough to get me to "Elite". I suspect that the shorter jump ran...

Lightweight.

I had a shorter jump range and had to scoop every jump, and still made it there and back...
