Re: New Rig: GTX vs RTX

I don't know either why Sony can't just put better hardware in that freakin box. Economies-of-scale. Consoles will always lag. Credit Microsoft for putting a better GPU in the XBox One X, along with the AMD x86-64 'refit,' especially since Sony is leading sales, so they have no incentive to do so. ...

Re: New Rig: GTX vs RTX

Disregarding RTX feature ... If you For instance want to go full VR. Well a 2080ti would still leave you wanting. Agreed. Top card for VR ... always, especially if the new Vive that does higher resolution. That said ... Personally I don't recommend 4k, better off imo to go with something like a 144...

3rd Sensor is working great! Especially in Skyrim VR, but definitely in Elite too. Thanx for the suggestions!

Re: Will a new mobo help?

EDIT: Just realized I was responding to the old, original post (was out-of-order). Started playing again. Forgot how amazing this game looks in the Rift. I've been playing Skyrim VR as of late, not much Elite. I went to 3 sensors and it's made all the difference. I bought an Inateck PCI/USB...

Re: Virpil......Not Competitive....

Try pushing a rudder pedal in zero G, the ship wouldnt move, you'd float up unless you're screwed down into your seat with more than a simple belt :p Joysticks have always been fly-by-wire in space, at least NASA ones. But yes, I believe on the STS Orbiter, the rudder pedals were only for aerodynam...

Re: CH Pro Throttle Center Stop

I just changed to absolute throttle. I don't use a reverse button, but I use a slider to go instant backwards (as well as instant forward).

Re: cpu fan mounting screws

PSUs are not really low cost, and cheap ones can fry your components pretty effectively, Not when 80-85% efficient quality units they are US$50-60 off on-sale/after-MIR. ;) That's why I buy them when on-sale, and save them for when needed. I don't know how many times friends of mine have PSUs die o...

Re: cpu fan mounting screws

Thanks for the replies. Tried Maplins - no go. The cooler is a "BFO" Alaska Nero. I emailed them (sales@alaska.co.uk), but it bounced back. Looks like mid April till I'm back up and running. Meh! Buy an interim solution local or from Amazon, then change it out later for what you wanted. Y...

I was thinking of doing this, as I have issues with two (2) sensors now that I have the Touch. It's almost like it was better with one (1) sensor when I didn't have the Touch.

Mini-ITX, MXM and never buy Atom (incl. Pentium J/N)

I stopped buying gaming notebooks and just started assembling portable Mini-ITX gaming systems after 2011, especially with most hotels having HDMI inputs on their TVs. It would be nice if consumer GPUs were available in the notebook Mobile PCIe Express Module (MXM) form-factor. ASRock has showcased ...
