Sorry to hear that mate. Had a similar case with my Mobo a couple of months ago but it was the power supply that fried both BIOS flash chips although it was beeping no VGA detected (Mobo had also VGA on board!)

Should've kept it in ya pants..... :D I can't really afford to go larger on the 4k front...Prices rocket to about £600 or more for larger.... The 2560 x 1440 is tempting but still about £400 for a 32" I think I might leave the monitor out and save the £400 for a sale down the line or something...

I have a 28" 4K and the difference in quality from a FHD is huge. Downside is that the GPU (1080Ti) is working harder and louder. a 2K 27-28" would be my advice. Even my 980Ti was able to run Ultra on the 2K one without too much noise. Not that I am playing nowdays... It is all about the b...

I do watch it but I would suggest you read the books too...

I do not remember the Thargoid ships being so difficult in the original Elite, but then again 30+ years is 30+ years...
