Saitek X56

Saitek X55 owner here. Caught it on-sale at Amazon last year for the price even under an US$150 X52 Pro. Before that I was using a US$30 Thrustmaster Hotas X, but glad I went with the Saitek X55. My only complaint with the X55 is the precision of the throttle's "nipple stick," which I use ...

Re: What are you doing (ingame) now?

As someone with an X55 Likewise ... I may as well mention that I tend to reverse the normal config for yaw and roll. I.E., I use twist to roll, sideways on the stick to yaw. I think of it like riding goofy-foot on a skateboard or snowboard (even though I don't use that stance on either.) I do that ...

Re: Eye Tracking (Tobii Eyex), Elite: Dangerous

With very thick glasses, I had to give up with my distance and monitor size. My eyes were just far and my glasses just too thick.

I'm back to my DelanClip w/PS3 camera, which continues to work solid, and has for the past year with any distance/monitor, small or big.

Re: PC spontaneous freeze and recovery FIXED

New member, but reading back through the threads and I thought this was a really good one ... ... because I believe that the problem is a generic one, not specific to my make or model ... You are absolutely and positively correct! I constantly see this, especially with various OEM Windows Managemen...

Re: Federal Dropship (Going Full Retard)

Re: targeting - if you're shooting medium to large NPCs always target the power plant (I don't bother on sideys, adders, eagles, cobras, etc). Especially when you're going for a Conda. A few hits to the power plant on one of those can totally disable it even when it's still got 50-60% hull. Yeah, I...

Federal Dropship (Going Full Retard)

Extremely Casual Player and New Mobius CMDR Here ... about 100-150 hours now since mid last year. So ... after many months of swearing I'd go directly from Vultures to a Python for an "all-in-one," I finally popped for a ... --> [Original Config (50M)] --> [Updated Config (50M)] F...

Re: Windows needs more memory...

... I tried, but all of that went woosh past and above my head. :) But it's nice to know someone knows what's going on. ;) Let me put it this way ... I had trouble buying something with my (redacted) card in Christmas of '08 ... and then it was as often as 50% of the time. In January of...

Re: Recommended MINIMUM specs for Elite: Dangerous VR revealed

With nVidia basically saying only the Titan for the new architecture will make its appearance on most shelves this year (very late consumer product line arrival), I finally forked over US$500 to upgrade to a GTX 980 Ti 6GiB. Was hoping to try it with my GTX 970 4GiB, but decided I had read enough. ...

Re: GPU help please

I'm currently running with a GTX660 GPU and with Horizons it starting to struggle a bit. It's coupled with an i5-3330 CPU and 12GB of RAM. I'm contemplating swapping out the GTX660 for a GTX970 because I don't need cutting edge performance and I think I can get away with it (without my wife noticin...
