Thanks for all the great replies guys! I am independent, PP didn't impress me too much. Since it didn't serve exploring, I dropped out of my pledge. It seems I don't have too much to worry about and I don't have to go through much of civ space with a well equipped border station.

Are you unshielded? That would be the main reason I would be really really concerned. IF you support a PP power or carrying cargo maybe but if you just have Exploration data, while I wouldn't be overly concerned I would be wary and hitting the closest Station is always a good idea I do have shields...
