I have experienced with different quality sensors and looking for effects on gimballed and turreted weapons. I have seen no difference in effectiveness.

I was not going to go solo again after joining Mobius, but then I found the articles about pvp'ers crashing pve-groups, and now I go solo when my funds are so low I cannot afford to take even the smallest risk. I lose enough credits by my own follies; I do not need help from other players to do that...

It did take some time for me to get from Lord to Baron, but not as bad as you describe. What I did was to run a trade route in my 120t cargo fitted Asp between 2 empire ports, checking and picking up the rep gain missions that popped up from time to time, but only the ones for the commanding faction...
