Eagle Loadout

Postby Mouse » Wed Aug 12, 2015 11:46 pm

I love the Eagle even though I know she's a fragile little thing. I'm wondering though if I can upgrade her more than she is.

I noticed some interesting named weapons and wondering how to get them.

Cytoscrampler, Retrobuter, Enforcer?

Hey there Mouse!

Those named weapons are the rewards for backing certain powers. Each power in powerplay has its own unique piece of equipment.

That looks to be about as upgraded as an eagle can get, unless you're a big fan of Shield Cell Banks? They can sure come in handy, and might be more useful than a hull reinforcement package? Food for thought I guess :D

I am not a fan of SCB's, what I tend to do is fight till shields breached then run to regen. The shield boost and Hull boosts are to give me time to do it or to leave ^,^

I agree, particularily in an eagle.
Running away is an important strategy, one I have used even in Donna, my A-spec Python :P

Or as I like to call it, "drastically shifting my offensive paradigm".

Although, by clicking around your fit a little I notice you can get a 3c shield gen on, and get almost 20Mj more shield strength.

If you are willing to downgrade sensors to a c ranked module, you could even get a 3a, and 112Mj total shield strength.
Will cost you 1km in sensor range. not particularily noticeable with a fast ship imo, , anyhoo just thinking.

Have been doing research and it says for shields it goes by the hull mass not the total mass. Is this true? And how can a c shield be better than an A? I don't understand that

From what I remember yes, it only goes for the base hull mass, what you put on after that isn't counted (hence why a hauler doesnt loose shields when he is filled up)

And the c class gives better shields because it's a class 3 mod, vs the class 2 in the fit you linked, higher class is normally always better.

Bwahahahaha.

Also, Mouse, yeah! I didn't notice that on that Coriolis page you have a class 2 shield gen installed in a size 3 internal bay. Misclick on Coriolis?

The larger the difference between actuall hull mass, and shield optimal mass, the better the shield will perform.
In essence if you have 5 tons less than shield optimal, you get a small bonus to your shields, but having an even wider gap between shield optimal hull and actual hull size nets you an even bigger bonus.

2c sensors, and 3a shields.
